Is Online Learning Right For You?
Let’s look at what it takes to be a successful online student. First, you must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection and be able to perform basic computer functions such as sending emails, researching the internet, using Microsoft Word and downloading/uploading files. You must also be disciplined and have the ability to start and complete tasks on time. Westwood College’s online learning program will require you to interact with instructors and classmates through discussion postings so you should be able to read and understand large amounts of written information. You should also be able to respond to postings in a clear and concise manner. Interacting with other students is a key component of the unique experience that earning an online degree provides.
Technology should be your friend! You should be comfortable with the process of obtaining assignments electronically as well as returning them in the same manner. Many students decide to earn an online degree because they have responsibilities and commitments that keep them from being able to attend a traditional campus on a daily basis. If this sounds like you then the online learning program may be your best option. Online students should be able to work independently without the need to be in a physical classroom setting. You must also know how to manage your time effectively and be able to devote adequate time each week to studying course content and completing assignments. One of the biggest perks of earning a degree online is having the flexibility to complete coursework at any time of the day, seven days a week.
Would you enjoy an online learning environment such as this? Would you have the discipline to stay committed to your degree program? If so, the Westwood College online learning program may be the choice for you!
